A High Wind Warning remains in effect for Greene County until 4:00 PM.
High winds will occur in the Smokies today, with winds 25 to 35 mph and gusts up to 60 mph possible in the mountains and foothills. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
By late Friday, the weather will get colder as a storm system is expected to develop and impact portions of southeastern U.S. Saturday evening into Sunday, bringing rain and snow. Impacts for our area remain low but cannot be ruled out according to the National Weather Service in Morristown. Higher elevations could see accumulating snowfall.
