An attempted shoplifting incident was reported at Walmart on East Andrew Johnson Highway on Wednesday.
The Asset Protection Investigator at the store told the Greeneville Police Department that two men and a woman entered the store around 5:00 PM. The three suspects placed several items in a cart, including a computer, a keyboard, a journal, a knife, a multi-tool, and a hatchet set.
One of the men then exited the store and got into a black Ford pickup to meet the other suspects at the automotive side of the store. The two other suspects then pushed the cart containing the items past all points of sale in an attempt to leave the store. The Walmart employee then stopped the suspects and was able to recover the stolen items. The two suspects with the cart then fled to the truck where the third suspect was waiting.
The recovered items total around $820.
