The Greeneville Fire Department responded around 2:30 this afternoon to a fire at a residence at 433 Cherry Street.
According to Greeneville Fire Chief Alan Shipley, all occupants of the home were able to get out unharmed. Chief Shipley said the fire spread to the basement area of the home, making it difficult for firefighters to put out the blaze due to the large amount of smoke.
The Greeneville Police Department, Greeneville Light & Power and EMS also responded to the scene.
