A Mosheim man was arrested after he was found in possession of heroin during a traffic stop on Wednesday.
Officers with the Mosheim Police Department, with assistance from the 3rd Judicial District Drug Task Force, conducted a traffic stop during a Drug Suppression Operation around Interstate 81 and Exit 23. During the traffic stop, a passenger of the vehicle, Ronnie Pinyan of Main Street in Mosheim, was found to be possession of 50.2 grams of a substance identified as heroin.
Pinyan was charged with possession of a schedule 1 drug for resale, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, and introduction of contraband into a correctional facility.
K-9 Officer Kojak of the Greeneville Police Department also assisted in the arrest.
