The National Weather Service in Morristown has issued a hazardous weather outlook for portions of East Tennessee. Additional snowfall accumulations are expected this morning through afternoon in the higher elevations of the mountains.
Gusty winds are expected to develop late Tuesday into Wednesday. Wind gusts between 30 to 40 mph will be possible area wide. Much stronger gusts between 60 to 70 mph expected across the East Tennessee Mountains and foothills.
A low-pressure system will impact the area Tuesday night through Thursday with periods of moderate to heavy rainfall possible overnight Tuesday.
Light snow accumulations are possible in higher elevations of the East Tennessee Mountains Wednesday night through Thursday.
