Two people wanted on warrants in different states were taken into custody in Greene County on Monday.
A deputy with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded to Beverly Hills Drive in Mosheim around 10:15 AM Monday on the report of a vehicle that had been sitting in the roadway for multiple hours. The driver of the vehicle, Jessica Walker of Murphy, North Carolina, was discovered to have multiple warrants out of North Carolina.
An officer with the Greeneville Police Department responded around 10:00 AM Monday to the intersection of Lonesome Pine Trail and West Andrew Johnson Highway. A vehicle was stopped due to the tag showing the registered owner was wanted out of Florida. The driver, identified as Andrew Oaks of Greeneville, had warrants out of Florida.
Both Walker and Oaks were taken into custody for being fugitives from justice. North Carolina will extradite Walker and Florida will extradite Oaks.
