The Greene County Grand Jury met Tuesday morning and handed several indictments.
Two were indicted for first degree murder including Ronald Leon Hale of Jeffries Lane in Mosheim. The 35-year-old was charged with first degree murder for intentionally killing a man and inflicting gunshot wounds on the 26th of February, 2022. Greene County 911 received a call of a shooting at a residence on Jeffries Lane. Upon arrival, deputies found 30-year-old Phillip Seay deceased from apparent multiple gunshot wounds. Hale was discovered with a gunshot wound and was transported to the Johnson City Medical Center for treatment.
Several were charged with aggravated assault charges including 45-year-old Tony A. Nelson of Bill Jones Road in Afton. Nelson was given multiple charges including 4 counts of aggravated assault involving a firearm and reckless endangerment with a firearm where he shot at a vehicle that had 3 people in it.
Anthony S. Cox, 50 of Lower Paint Creek Road in Greeneville, was charged with 2 counts of aggravated assault where he caused harm with the deadly weapon being a machete to two people on the 26th of June 2022. He was also charged with resisting arrest, and using force against an officer, obstructing them from an effective arrest.
66-year-old Gary Lynn Johns from Rocky Point in Midway, was charged with 3 counts of aggravated assault for bodily injury with a knife, bodily injury involving strangulation and or attempted strangulation, and aggravated assault causing serious bodily injuries. He was also charged with tampering with evidence by destroying or concealing a knife during the investigation process.
Mindi Verran Southerland, 48 of Mason Street in Greeneville, was charged with a false report. Southerland initiated a report where she allegedly lied stating 3 people entered her locked apartment and raped her.
Jonathan A. Thomas, 27 of West Main Street in Greeneville, was given multiple charges including possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell or deliver about 70 lbs. of marijuana on the 11th of March 2022, as well as possession of a firearm during the commission of or attempt to commit a dangerous felony. Thomas also has multiple counts for possession of a firearm with intent to go armed and for possession of drug paraphernalia with the intent to deliver. On a separate occasion on August 3rd, 2022, Thomas was given more charges including intent to sell and/or deliver about 10 lbs. of marijuana as well as possession of a firearm.
21-year-old Morgan Dallas Carter of Bernard Road in Greeneville, also was charged on August 3rd, 2022 with the intent to sell and/or deliver about 10 lbs. of marijuana and a possession of a firearm to commit a dangerous felony.
Josephine E. Bolduc, 28 of 142 Fox Road, was charged with assault to a deputy/officer, resisting arrest preventing the officer from enforcing stop, frisk, halt, arrest, and search, disorderly conduct creating hazardous condition by throwing trash on the roadway and/or engaging in fighting or threatening behavior.
