Greene County Schools will be closed today due to the forecast for high winds, particularly in the Camp Creek area.
Greene County Director of Schools David McLain said that the forecast of wind gusts between 80 and 85 miles per hour in the foothills of the mountain were the deciding factor. Winds are expected to peak between 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM.
As of 5 AM this morning wind gusts in the Camp Creek area are already at almost 70 mph, which is the highest so far. No power outages were reported as of this morning at 5 AM.
