A total of 396 student-athletes have been named to the 2022 Tusculum University Athletic Director’s Fall Honor Roll announced Doug Jones, vice president of athletics and university initiatives.
To be selected to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll, a student-athlete must accumulate either a fall semester or cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale.
The Tusculum football team boasted the most student-athletes on the honor roll with 53 honorees. The Pioneer baseball team was second with 43 selections followed by women’s soccer (33), men’s soccer (27), women’s volleyball (25), beach volleyball (24), men’s basketball (19), women’s basketball (19), men’s lacrosse (18), men’s track & field (16), softball (16), women’s lacrosse (14), men’s volleyball (14), cheerleading (13), men’s tennis (11), women’s tennis (11), men’s golf (8), women’s golf (6), women’s bowling (5), women’s cross country (5), men’s bowling (4), men’s cross country (4).
The Tusculum women’s tennis team had the highest cumulative grade point average of the department with a 3.88 team GPA. Of Tusculum’s athletic programs, 19 boasted team GPAs of 3.00 or better. The women’s lacrosse team was second with a 3.60 GPA, followed by men’s tennis (3.58), women’s golf (3.57), softball (3.49), women’s soccer (3.47), women’s volleyball (3.46), women’s bowling (3.43), beach volleyball (3.38), women’s cross country (3.28), men’s bowling (3.27), cheerleading (3.26), men’s soccer (3.25), baseball (3.18), women’s track & field (3.12), men’s lacrosse (3.09), men’s volleyball (3.07), women’s basketball (3.04) and men’s basketball (3.01).
Fifty-five (55) student-athletes posted a 4.00 GPA during the spring semester with eight (8) who have maintained a perfect cumulative 4.00 GPA including: Inmaculada Delgado (women’s cross country / track & field), Marja Enste (women’s soccer), Hannah Hughes (softball), Emily Metaschk (women’s soccer), Johanna Palacio (women’s tennis), Keylon Reynolds (softball), Zach Wilson (baseball) and Kylia Wright (women’s track & field).
Tusculum University, located in Greeneville, Tennessee, is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, USA and is a NCAA Division II member of the South Atlantic Conference. Tusculum, the oldest university in the State of Tennessee, sponsors 24 intercollegiate sports.
