A man was arrested yesterday after getting pulled over by an officer, fleeing, and then eventually deciding to stop after a pursuit.
According to the report from the Greeneville Police Department, the man identified as Zebedee Gross of Greeneville, was driving a motorized bicycle on North Irish Street when an officer saw he had no helmet on and had a loud exhaust. The officer approached and asked him to turn off the bike but Gross took off instead. The officer attempted to chase him on foot but had to relay his location to other officers in the area for assistance.
The pursuit continued with other officers but Gross still did not pull over. He finally stopped at West Sevier Heights and East Grove Street where he was then taken into custody. He is being charged with helmet law violation, muffler law violation, driving with an expired license, and felony evading.
