One person has died after a vehicle fire yesterday night at Eastside Baptist Church in Greeneville.
The Greeneville Fire Department and Greeneville Police Department responded to the scene at 195 Serral Drive about 8 PM last night and located a vehicle in the rear parking lot that was engulfed in fire. When the fire was extinguished, a body was discovered inside the vehicle.
The cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation by the Greeneville Fire and Police Departments. Eastside Baptist Church has shared that the vehicle caught fire next to the fellowship hall and caused a small amount of damage to the structure.
The body will be taken to the William L. Jenkins Forensic Center in Johnson City, for an autopsy. No further information is available about the incident at this time. Updates will be sent out as they become available.
