At the Greene County Commission meeting, Greene County Partnership President Jeff Taylor was present and shared a quick update on projects in the county, but not before mentioning the Basketball Tournament. Taylor said hotels were booked and sports are definitely something in the county that is helping the economy. Taylor also said that a $100,000 grant was received yesterday morning for the Greene Valley Project. The grant will cover costs for a archeological and environmental study on the 336-acre property. Mayor Morrison added the project is $1.75 M.
County Mayor Kevin Morrison reminded all about the dedication ceremony for the Gail Davis Jeffers Courtroom on January 5. The ceremony will be held at 3:00 PM in the Greene County Courthouse. January was also declared Human Trafficking Awareness Month.
