The Greene County Commission approved all resolutions on the agenda including authorization for the Greene County Mayor Kevin Morrison to apply to the state of Tennessee for a grant fund under the State Industrial Access Road Program, for Potter Town Road to benefit the Walmart Distribution Center.
The Mayor said a couple years ago Walmart made a request asking for improvements and help from the town for the road. The mayor mentioned if there were to be no grant funding available, the project would not be done.
The mayor was also authorized to make an application to the state of Tennessee for grant funding under the State Industrial Access Road Program to repair the approaches on both sides of the bridge on Ball Road. Work for the project would include replacing the bridge, repaving, and raising the road about 400 feet.
A motion was passed to declare county owned property. The list of items include several vehicles including Chevy Impala’s, Dodge Durango’s, a John Deere Gator 6×4 UTV, a box truck and more. The items are either in poor condition or are no longer needed and total over $30,000.
