The Greene County Recovery Court held a graduation ceremony Thursday to recognize four individuals who have completed the program. Recovery Court works to reduce correctional costs, protect community safety, and improve the public welfare. In Recovery Court, non-violent individuals with substance abuse disorders can receive treatment while under legal supervision. The goal is to reduce repeat offenses and end substance abuse.
Grant Jones, Chad Crawford, Anthony Laws, and Janet Angel were recognized for their completion of the program. The guest speaker was Penny Jones, a former graduate of the program, shared her recovery story and presented the group with a copy of Dr. Seuss’s book “Oh, The Places You’ll Go.”
