Police responded to a call of a disturbance Friday afternoon at Ingle’s on the Asheville Highway.
Officers arrived on scene around 5:20 PM Friday. They heard yelling coming from the store’s bathroom, and observed a male punching the bathroom stall. Once police got the man outside, they identified him as Jonathon Raines of Sunnyside Road. According to the report, Raines had pinpoint pupils and appeared to be under the influence of drugs. Raines reportedly admitted to using heroin.
During a search, officers located suspected heroin, a cut straw, cigarette filters, a spoon with residue, and a syringe.
Raines was placed under arrest for Public Intoxication, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Schedule One Drug, and was transported to the Greene County Detention Center.
