Police were called to a disturbance on West Main Street Friday night around 10:30.
A witness told officers that while he was sitting in the parking lot, he saw a red jeep stop and a female roll out of it. The jeep then left the scene.
Officers spoke to the woman, identified as Megan Subbert of Susong Lane, who reportedly had a strong odor of alcohol coming from her person, her speech was slurred, and she was unsteady on her feet.
Another person, identified as Jerry King of West Main, approached officers. King also smelled strongly of alcohol and was unsteady on his feet. According to the report, King admitted he had been drinking, said he knew he couldn’t drive, and so he was walking towards Subbert’s house to make sure she had made it home.
Due to both Subbert’s and King’s level of intoxication, for their own and the public’s safety, both were taken into custody for public intoxication.
