At the Greeneville Energy Authority Board meeting, CEO Chuck Bowlin received approval to revise the cost estimate on capital projects. He said this year there are $5.2 M in projects. The revision is needed as some of the estimates made on certain projects, like the Mohawk substation, were off target. Bowlin explained some of the scope of the work is slightly changing and the construction type has changed.
The board approved the meter and transformer purchase request recommended by Bowlin. The 1200 single phased meters are typically used for residents and is an annual purchase used to replace failed meters. The meter purchase would be a total of $215,592.
The transformer request includes two budget requests, one being 30 conventional transformers totaling $30,420. The second request would need to have the approval of developers in the county before purchase, as the developers will receive some of these transformers.
