A Grapevine Trail woman reported a scam on Thursday in which someone contacted her claimng to be with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.
The woman said she received a call Thursday from the scammer, who claimed to be with the Sheriff’s Department. The scammer said the victim needed to send $6,000 or she would be arrested.
The victim bought $6,000 in Money Pak gift cards and put them in a mailbox by Hibbit Sports in the Greeneville Commons. She was advised to talk to the post office about getting the cards back.
