Mosheim Police confiscated drugs, a weapon, and drug paraphernalia from a man asleep in a car behind Dairy Queen.
Mosheim Police Chief Dustin Jeffers said that Monday evening, around 7:20 PM, Mosheim Police were dispatched to the report of an unwanted person behind the Dairy Queen at 14044 West Andrew Johnson Highway. Upon arrival, an officer found an SUV with a camper hooked to it behind the restaurant. The driver, Derrick Aiken, no address given, was found to be asleep in the driver’s seat. Several syringes were in plain sight in the vehicle.
A K-9 unit brought to the scene alerted to drugs being in the vehicle, and upon a search 1.9 ounces of methamphetamine, almost six grams of marijuana, and five syringes were found. The car also contained several sets of digital scales, prescription pills, suboxone strips, ammunition, and a pistol.
The driver was charged with Manufacture, Sale, Delivery or Possession of Methamphetamine; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Possession of a Schedule IV Drug; Possession of a Schedule V Drug; Possession of a Schedule VI drug; and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
