A man was arrested on multiple charges around 1:00 AM yesterday morning after a pursuit began for speeding in Knox County and continued into Greene County on Kiser Boulevard.
The vehicle driven by Kurtis Lewis, Greeneville, was first pursued by White Pine Police Department on West Andrew Johnson Highway, and per request Greene County joined the pursuit. The vehicle was detected to be driving at 114 mph. The vehicle continued and turned onto Blue Spring Parkway inbound and was spiked twice, but continued onto Main Street, then onto the 11-E.
It proceeded onto the Kingsport Highway and the vehicle eventually got into an accident on Bolton Road, when the suspect began running on foot. A Deputy with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department pursued the suspect on foot and lost sight at the intersection of Kingsport Highway and Kiser Boulevard.
An ID belonging to Lewis was found with a wallet and was confirmed by the passenger. He was later arrested and charged with multiple charges including Evading Arrest, Reckless Driving, and Resisting Stop, Frisk, Halt, and Search.
