Despite no significant challengers in most races in Tuesday’s election, voter turnout in Greene County was nearly 40%.
17,252 of the county’s 43,587 registered voters cast a ballot. Of those, 9,912 voted on election day, with 7,340 voting early. 42% of those voting went to the polls early this year.
In the 2018 midterm election, 49% of Greene Countians turned out to vote, up from 33.7% who voted in the 2014 midterms and 39.3% that voted in the 2010 midterms.
