The Greene County Regional Planning Commission decided that the discussion on potential changes to the regulations relating to development and road/utility networks should continue until the next meeting.
County Attorney Roger Woolsey and the board felt more research needed to be done on what changes should be made before making anything permanent. Changes to the regulations could solve issues in the future in regards to what is required prior to approving work on subdivisions. At the last meeting there was a concern from a resident on safety measures for Prichard Road and Morrison Way, for the CMH Homes subdivision. The subdivision was approved and met all applicable requirements to the Greene County subdivision regulations, but Greg Knight expressed he didn’t think the subdivision was a good idea. Knight said there is a blind spot on the hill on Prichard Road, it could be unsafe for children and school buses, and because he feels the road is too narrow for two-way traffic.
Planning Coordinator Amy Tweed shared that there will be a meeting for solar farms on Monday the 14th at 5:30 PM. The meeting is to discuss the proposed solar regulations and is open to all who are interested. The first objective of the meeting is to identify the purpose(s) of regulating solar/renewable energy facilities. The information will then be used to determine how wide-ranging the regulations should be. There has been a six month moratorium on solar farms so essentially more research could be done. The meeting will be held at the Courthouse Annex located on 204 North Cutler Street.
