Officers with the Tusculum Police Department were called to West Street for a welfare check on Friday, where two bodies were found deceased.
When officers arrived they were assisted by members of the Tusculum Volunteer Fire Department, Greeneville Greene Emergency Medical Services, and Tusculum Chaplain Rick Becker. After entering, an elderly male and female were found deceased.
The bodies were sent for an autopsy for identification and cause of death. No foul play was suspected at the time; names are being withheld until proper identification can be made. According to Tusculum Police Chief Danny Greene, identification has not yet been determined.
