The resolution to approve funds for the replacement of the workhouse roof, EMS Department, and computer-related equipment were all approved in yesterdays Greene County Commission meeting.
The board also approved $23,538 for the Election Security Assistance Grant. This will assist in securing votes and help with improving the election process. A motion was carried for $53,500 to go towards Law Enforcement equipment and support their K-9 division. Emperor Lane was added to the Greene County Road list. The lane intersects with Greene Lawn Avenue.
The Commission has now also approved funds in the amount of $3.3 M for work on the Chuckey Doak Middle School. The funds were first approved by the Greene County Board of Education and will be used towards building improvements.
A motion was carried for the Greene County Solid Waste Department to use certain property and declare it as surplus property, as they feel it’s no longer needed. Some of the items include: a 1200-gallon diesel fuel tank and side storage boxes for a tanker truck, a Ford 2400 QT tractor, bush hog, and other property items.
