The Greene County Commission approved spending just under $20,000 for a site survey of a property along Snapps Ferry Road. The property is one of the top five in Greene County for prospective commercial development.
The fifty-acre tract has an asking price of $1.3 million and Greene County Partnership President Jeff Taylor said the survey would give Greene County an idea of how much of the site could be developed.
Commissioner Tim White questioned what the eventual development costs could be for the site, including how much might have to be spent in grading site preparation work. Taylor said the results of the site survey could also be used to help the county determine if the asking price for the property is fair.
The Commission agreed, by a vote of 14-7, with commissioners Tim White, Jason Cobble, Dale Tucker, Josh Arrowood, Chase Murray, Lyle Partin, and Josh Kesterson voting against.
