Former Mayor W. T. Daniels led the meeting and swore-in new elected Mayor Cal Doty at the regular meeting of the Greeneville Board of Mayor and Aldermen.
Also sworn-in were Alderman Scott Bullington and Tim Teague. Doty took time and thanked Daniels for his service and contribution to the community. He shared his appreciation for the board and expressed how fortunate he was to help make a difference in Greeneville.
The board had a fairly short meeting in which all items for consideration on the agenda were approved. Among items approved were vehicles, emergency equipment, vests and tasers for the Greeneville Police Department. The special event application to close down roads for the Halloween festivities was approved, as well as Christmas in Downtown, which will be held December 2nd.
A new street ‘Sweet Pea Trail’, located by Oak Grove Road, has been accepted and added to the towns official street list.
