The Greeneville Board of Mayor and Aldermen held its regular meeting on Tuesday.
The board approved a grant match of up to $28,000 and immediate payment of around $8,700 for environmental due diligence at Hardin Industrial Park. City Administrator Todd Smith said the town is taking advantage of a state grant to hopefully generate new industrial interest in the property. Evaluating and preparing the site would accelerate the process of development.
The board also approved the reappointments of Joe Gonzalez to the Greeneville Civil Service Board, Mary Hall to the Greeneville Housing Authority, and Tim Teague, Paige Mengel and Craig Ogle to the Greeneville Municipal Parking Authority.
The board also approved special event requests to close portions of Summer and Main Streets for the National Skilled Nursing Home Week Parade on May 9, to close a portion of Main Street for the Rural Resources Incredible Farm Dinner on Main on July 23, and to close portions of College Street for the Rural Resources Brewfest on September 10.
Also during the meeting, a proclamation was read honoring the 80th anniversary of the Andrew Johnson National Monument.
