A Limestone man was arrested after police responded to a residence on a warrant check on Monday afternoon.
Deputies responded to an address on Delzie Randolph Road around 5:45 PM to conduct a warrant check. When they arrived on the scene, a man was sitting in a truck next to the residence.
The man, identified as William Payne of Bill West Road, exited the truck and began walking away from deputies. He was ordered to stop, but reportedly began running. Deputies apprehended Payne after a brief foot pursuit.
A search of his pockets revealed two suboxone pills, a clonazepam pill, and a baggie of less than half a gram of methamphetamine.
After Payne was taken into custody, two glass pipes were seen in his truck. Payne was charged with possession of schedule 2, 3, and 4 drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, and evading arrest. Payne also had an outstanding warrant out of Washington County.
