Units from the Nolichuckey and Tusculum Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a vehicle fire near a home at 220 Fox Glen Road in Chuckey around 8:30 Sunday night. Most of the damage was confined to the car,. There was no damage to the adjacent home.
Mary Trantham reported she had just returned from the store when she noticed smoke coming from the 2000 Honda Odyssey. Fire under the hood of the vehicle according to the Fire Department, was apparently electrical in nature. Those at the home at the time were able to extinguish the fire before emergency personnel arrived.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Department investigated.
